Cooper Conner Is SIX!

Cooper is turning SIX years old today!
Amidst hanging streamers and balloons and all the prep to make it a fun day for him,
I of course can't help but me a bit sentimental in thinking back.

Cute and Simple Baby Burp Rags

When Cooper was born, my Aunt made me the cutest burp rags that I just loved!

They were simple, but so cute. Because I liked them so well, I used one of them to create a pattern and make them myself to give as baby gifts. These are a great way to bust your flannel fabric stash! (Or, a good excuse for choosing cute flannel to buy while I'm waiting in line at the fabric cutting counter...)

I have a friend that is expecting a baby girl, so I got to actually use these cute prints I've been hoarding! If you are a crocheter, these are also perfect for adding a pretty edge! They are super easy and this little tutorial will make it even moreso...

Simple FroYo Card Teacher Gift

Hooray hooray for the last week of school!
I can hardly wait to have my Cooper back for the whole day!
To not have to make double trips to and from the school each day,
to worry a little less about bedtime
to just have it be summer!

We've been thinking for awhile about what to give Cooper's teacher and aides as an end of year gift. I happened upon some threads on facebook where teachers were chiming in on what they most love to get. The resounding winner: gift cards! So, even thought they aren't really seen as a very creative gift, I decided gift cards it was!

ultimate LEGO giveaway!

So it's pretty much a given that boys love LEGO!

This week I'm teaming up with some other fun bloggers to help Kara from The Joys of Boys celebrate her one year blogiversary with the Ultimate LEGO Giveaway!

Cutting Grass... Pulling Teeth... Taking Aim

No one really loves to mow their lawn, right?? Our neighbors would certainly never mistake us for loving it- we seriously wait until the absolute 11th hour before we mow it seems! But Stephen recently did some trading for this super-awesome-seen-better-days-but-we-think-it-still-rocks riding lawnmower! And now we might just mow our lawn for the fun of it... or, more truthfully, let Taron or Keaton hop on and mow for the fun of it! :) Ryder thinks it's a new play toy and has taken several sweet trips without moving an inch on this thing already :)

Graduation Mason Jar Money Gift

Woohoo- school's almost out!
It seems like there's an awesome energy this time of year,
knowing summer is about to mean more freedom!
Even as an adult, summer just seems more... well, better :)

Recently we got to witness my younger brother, my only brother,
experience his very last last day of school! He graduated with a Masters Degree
in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University.

Made in Idaho Giveaway: $400 Value!

Have the words "it's a small world" ever come out of your mouth? Maybe when you see someone you know in a place thats far away from home; or when you meet someone who had been a stranger, but knows someone you know too? Growing up and living in Idaho means I can certainly say "It's a small world!" A small town to be sure :) But the crazy thing is... through small towns around Idaho, the whole world is being touched! Anyone could say the same about their home state in this day in age- it really is a small world!
In fact, did you know that several of your favorite online businesses and bloggers
are from right here- Idaho?!
Generally people think of potatoes or Napoleon Dynamite when they think of us,
but there's a lot of talent packed into our great state!
To prove it, I've teamed up again with some amazing Idaho bloggers to host a BIG giveaway-
this time to celebrate just how great Idaho really is!

Moms Make the World Go Round

Happy Mothers Day! I can't let today pass without gushing a bit about my own Mom and also making sure any readers that are Mothers who might stop by today know how amazing YOU are! I have been blessed with an amazing, selfless Mom that largely made, and still makes, me who I am.. I will forever want to be her one day!

She gave me as good of roots as it is possible to have
and encourages me to spread my wings in ways that will improve our life.
I love you, Mom!

Being a Mom is trying, but it is wonderful!
There is no better job or place to be, in my opinion :)

Moms make the world go round, no question!
Wishing a joyous, memorable day and week to you all!

Color in Motion 5K

So it goes without saying that I really shouldn't plan on running a 5K anytime soon! :P

Or maybe that I'd be pretty much incapable of running a 5K anytime soon- ha! But here's the thing... I keep hearing about this awesome Color in Motion race going on soon here in eastern Idaho. Quite awhile ago, my friend Monica told me she's got a whole group together, and I know my youngest sister will be in the thick of it too. And I think it looks so fun! I'd be walking way more than running and probably cross the finish line stinkin' last, but I'm intrigued enough that when I got an email from Amanda inquiring if she could guest post about Color in Motion here at Capital B, I was excited! So, even though I'm no fitness blogger, I think this post is one you'll enjoy and maybe be motivated by to join in on something awesome. :) And here's Amanda...

Hey guys! This is Amanda from Color in Motion 5k. I am so excited to tell you about one of the most fun events of the year, the Color in Motion 5K race. I also want to offer Sky’s readers an awesome deal for the Color in Motion 5K fun run on July 6 in Rexburg. This race will also benefit The Idaho Humanitarian Aid Project- Summerfest.  The Idaho Humanitarian Aid Project is our charity partner this year.

Boys (still) Rule

Have I used that post title a thousand times already? Pretty much.
So this makes 1,001...
because, for real, boys rule :)

They rule this place at least!
